In Copiague there is a family which is on the brink of losing their home. The husband and wife are both 58 years old. They are hard workers and good people. They both owned a cleaning service and were doing OK.
They decided to buy a house and were able to pay for it for about three years. The downstairs of their home was unfinished. They worked hard, even borowed some money from friends and finished the downstairs and rented it out.
Ten the hard times started and not only for them but for everyone. They didnt have much business and the husband had to find a job. He couldnt for a few months. They applied for a loan modification in their bank. The bank gave them a lower payment for the time that the application was revised which took about 6 months. They were misinformed and were happy that they were able to pay about $1000 less per month on their house payment.
After 6 months the husband found a job but it pays just enough to make the house payment which got back up to its regular amount after the application was denied. What they found out then is that for the six months that they were paying less for their mortgage they owed the bank almost $7000 plus the regular mortgage payment.
They were devastated and depressed. Now the overdue amount is over 135 days old and the bank doesnt want to take their regular payment anymore as well because they say they have to pay the whole amount of $7000 which they owe but don't have.
If they dont do this within a month and a half they will get a forclosure notice and lose their home.
They have an 80 year old (mother of the wife) living with them which they support. They are making enough money to make the payments on their home now with both of them working but dont have a way to get the $7000 to pay the overdue amount and if they wont they will lose their home.
They do not know this but I want to help them. Please if you think that you know what they are going through and feel you can help them with $5 plese do so here. I do not offer you anything else except knowledge that you will help those people in Copiague. After the whole amount is collected I will pass it on to them and will let everyone know who they are and post a foto of the family and home. I want to help these people and please help me help them.
